OutKast to Headline Bestival 2014 and Play Wireless Festival.

OutKast Playing Bestival and Wireless Festival in England.A reunited OutKast announced across their social networks back on January 13th plans to play forty festivals this year in honour of their twentieth anniversary.

Hip hoppers Big Boi and Andre 3000, have been out on their own since the 2003 release of Speakerboxx/The Love Below. The double release was essentially a collection of two solo albums, one done by Big Boi and the latter by Andre 3000. Nevertheless, it was a massive success, yielding singles “Hey Ya!,” “The Way You Move,” “Roses,” and “Ghetto Musick,”

Keeping all that in mind, it’s been a busy morning for UK festival organisers and hip hop fans, as OutKast have been announced as the first headlining act for Bestival 2014 and as part of the Wireless Festivals‘ initial wave of confirmations.

As of now, OutKast has been announced not only as the headlining act, but also as the only act for Bestival 2014, which will take place September 4th to 7th on the Isle of Wight.

Bestival tickets go on sale this Friday, January 31st at 9 AM. Watch this space for ticket and lineup updates.

If that wasn’t enough to overload you this morning, the Wireless Festival has dropped its initial lineup, and what can we say other that it’s rap and hip-hop heavy and absolutely HUGE!

In the words of Rudimental, it’s “gonna b absolutely mental this year!” OutKast will join a the bill topped by Kanye West, Drake, and Bruno Mars. Filling the gaps will be some big names like Pharrell Williams, who’s achieved monster fame after voicing Daft Punk’s massive hit “Get Lucky,” Rudimental, Wiz Khalifa, Basement Jaxx, Iggy Azalea, Azealia Banks, Ellie Goulding, and, one of our favourites at 5gig, Pretty Lights.

We don’t know what more to say about this year’s Wireless Festival, which will take place July 4th to 6th in both Birmingham and London, as the lineup speaks for itself!

Tickets go on sale January 31st as well, and are available below:
