Madness

ska, 80s, british I'm a fan

Madness is a band that began its career during that 1970’s, and gained success in the 1980’s. The band is probably most well-known for its hit in 1982 entitled "Our House". The band produced several songs that reached the top of the charts in the UK throughout the 80’s.The band formed in 1976, and it continued as a group through 1986, with their music definitely having a pop feel to it with ska undertones. This is what made their sound so unique.

In 1984, they built a recording studio called Liquidator Studios. They also formed a record label called Zarjazz. Zarjazz was a subsidiary of Virgin Records. The record label dissolved when the band broke up in 1986.
After six years the band reunited to play, and for several years the band has toured on and off. Since 1976 the band has recorded and released 11 albums. The band’s line-up has changed several times throughout the years, but their sound has remained constant. They are now out and about in 2014 touring the UK and Europe.
