I'm a fan
Originally formed in 1995 by singer/pianist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody, Evanescense is a popular rock band that has has sold millions of albums since the 2003 release of their first full length album "Fallen". "Fallen" sold over 17 million copies and won two Grammy awards and quickly catapulted Evanescense into rock and roll fame.
The early years of Evanescense in the mid to late 90's and early 00's was a struggle for the band. Mainly adored by local radio stations who tried to get exposure for the band, Evanescense released small amounts of copies of both the 1998 "Evanescense EP" and the 1999 "Sound Asleep EP", otherwise known as the "Whisper EP". When demand rose for Evanescense to play in concert, they played live to very happy local fans before breaking out to worldwide stardom with "Fallen" in 2003. With the release of "Fallen", Evenescense found true fame with the hit single "My Immortal" and embarked on a highly successful tour to promote the album. In 2006, they found success again with the album "The Open Door", which provided the smash hit "Call Me When You're Sober" and led to spot on the Argentinan festival Quilmes which also included popular bands like Velvet Revolver and Aerosmith.
To truly experience the rock style of Evanescense, here is the music video for this hit song, "Call Me When You're Sober".
