Don Williams is an American Country music legend from Floydada, Texas. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010. His solo career started in 1971. Don Williams has led a prolific and largely successful musical career with almost 20 number 1 Country and Western hits. He was named the Gentle Giant in Country music for his soft yet bass register and vocal range. In addition, Don Williams was signed to some of the most popular and well respected record labels in the business, such as Sugar Hill Records, Columbia, ABC, MCA, Capitol, RCA, Giant, Koch and Dot. His music has been covered by some of the most popular names in Country and Pop music. Some of those artists include, Sonny James, Johnny Cash, Alison Krauss, Eric Clapton, Lefty Frizzell, Josh Turner, Billy Dean, Charley Pride, Kenny Rogers and Claude Russell Bridges, to name a few. At 73, Don Williams keeps a low profile but performs occasionally. His singing and songwriting skills have inspired countless generations of Country and Alternative Country music stars.
