indie, electronic, alternative I'm a fan

Bastille is an indie synth-pop band from South London, England. Core members Dan Smith, Will Farquarson, Kyle Simmons and Chris ‘Woody’ Wood in 2010 formed the group. The group was immediately signed by EMI record label Virgin Records in 2011. From there, Bastille recorded their debut full-length studio album Bad Blood in 2011. It reached number 1 on the UK Pop Music Charts as well as reaching number 5 on the Ireland Music Charts. It was declared a UK Silver record. The group's breakthrough single from their debut album was the track "Pompeii". It reached number 2 on the UK Music Charts.

The group is currently working on their follow up sophomore album, which is expected for release, later in 2013. The band has performed at many well known and popular music festivals around the world. They headlined a tour in 2012 on the back of their debut album release. Bad Blood received unanimous critical acclaim. This has helped launch the band into a successful run of live performances. In 2012, the group released 2 other successful charting singles, "Flaws" and "Bad Blood". Bastille has announced that they plan to release their next single in 2013 called "Laura Palmer". The song title is a reference to the David Lynch TV series, Twin Peaks. The group is planning more tour dates for 2013. In addition, the group is finishing up recording duties for their next studio album. Expect to see more Bastille singles this year.
